1)We Sure Love Detention or 2)Detention Already or 3)What A Great Start

"Welcome all to Silverstone Academy," a short, grandma looking, lady said. "I am your Headmistress, Ms. Gossamer. This here is the Vice Principal and Head of Rules and Punishments, Ms. Chapman." She paced back and forth before the students, looking at each one of them in turn. "You are all different and special in your own ways. While one of you may be stronger in one area, the other is strong in a different talent. Each of you will have your shining moments. Sometimes you will be shining silver, other times you will be rusty grey and in need of polishing, improvement. Whether you will fight evil, grant wishes as a fairy godmother, rule a kingdom, or someday be a teacher you will all shine. And our goal here is to polish you until you shine the brightest silver possible." She smiled and Ms. Chapman stepped up.
Ms. Chapman gave a grin and many students cringed. "Hello, new students. I am Ms. Chapman, as Ms. Gossamer said. I am the head of the Rules, Regulations, and Punishments as well as the Vice Principal. So." She looked the students up and down. "The rule list will ALWAYS be on the walls, on every bulletin board. So there is NO REASON TO SAY YOU DIDN'T KNOW THE RULES!! I shall go over the main rules now. No unsupervised complex, dangerous or difficult magic. Always have respect. Treat the school property responsibly. Hand in work on time. Do not skip class or pretend to be sick.
Some students dozed off for some of the rules. Ms. Chapman was not happy about this.
"Omelia!" She screamed at a girl in the front who was playing with her hair, needing to set an example for all the people not listening. "Stop playing with your hair and pay attention!"
    "I am paying attention!"
"Really? What happens if you are caught sneaking off campus during school hours?"
"You didn't tell us that, Ms. Chapman."
    "Yes I did!"
"No, you didn't" Omelia was shocked. She hadn't told them that! She was paying attention!
"Disrespect!  Come to my office later."
    "What? But Ms. Gossamer!"
"You heard me!" Ms.Gossamer shrugged and gave her a look of pity that said she was sorry.
    "Yes, Ms. Chapman."
"Good, now listen carefully to these next few rules or you will get detention too. There are certain days and hours when you can go to Red Fountain, Magix, Alfea, or anywhere off campus. The dates and times are on a list next to the rule lists. DO NOT GET CAUGHT OFF CAMPUS PAST CURFEW! Also, do not EVER go to CLOUD TOWER or do anything with the WITCHES. Do not trick us teachers or do anything sneaky and forbidden. IS THAT CLEAR?!?!?!!" The crowd nodded, with very scared looks in their eyes. "GOOD!"
"Thank you, Ms. Chapman." Ms Gossamer continued, "Now please, check into your dorms and meet your roommates! Classes will start tomorrow, so you have the rest of today free. And spend all the time that you are here connecting to your winx! I'm sure you will all love it here."

Twila walked out of her dorm. She had just finished unpacking and wanted to go to where there was better reception to call her sister. In the hall outside the Headmistress' office, she finally received a good enough reception to make the call.
"Hello?" Twila's worried, little sister answered the phone.
"It's me, Twila. I'm all right. I just finished unpacking. I love it here."
"Oh, that's great!" Twila's sister was no longer worried.
Just then Ms.Chapman walked into the hall. She looked Twila up and down. "Miss Cosmica," Ms. Chapman's said, "What are you doing here?"
"I..I...I wanted to call my sister and tell her I was OK. I needed to go here to get reception."
"Exactly, Miss Cosmica. There is only reception from the Headmistress' office since students may only call out with special permission. Is that clear? Now please hand me your phone."
"Ms. Chapman, no! I need to call my family."
"Your family shouldn't be worried. They should trust the school. Please give me your phone."
    "But, but...."
    "Now, or detention."
    "Will I get it back?"
"I'll think about it. But because of your talking back, you get detention."
    "Ms. Chapman!"
    "Did you hear me?"
"Yes...." She finally handed over the phone, afraid of getting into more trouble. First day of school, and Twila already had detention. She trudged back to her dorm.

**********

While the rest of the school had enjoyed the afternoon in town, these girls had stayed in school, discussing their detention details with Ms. Chapman. Omelia and Twila received two days of detention.
The school year had barely started, and already they were on the bad list. They could have been enjoying themselves, but no. Nothing could brighten up their moods.
**********

Classes began the next day, and the whole school was buzzing with excitement. Some freshmen raced to their classrooms, curious to get a taste of the school. Others walked slowly, dreading what would come. Returning students said hello to classmates and teachers they had not seen since the last semester.
One such student, Rani Andrason, was already in the classroom, talking with her new teacher.
"Mr. Abekesis, I can't wait for class to start! All summer I've been thinking about this course.... Everyone says what a fine teacher you are!"
Rani, a modest and usually shy girl, was a lot more confident in the classroom than out in life. This girl was very curious and always asked multitudes of questions.
"I've heard plenty about you too, Miss Andrason. And though I cannot wait to have you in my classroom, you're schedual was changed."
    "It was?"
He nodded. "Come back here for second period, but for now, off to Ms Grimshaw."
Rani smiled and left the classroom.

Ding! The magical bell, the sound of pixie laughter,  rang just as Rani arrived in her seat.
"You barely made it, Miss Andrason."
"Oh, I'm sorry! I was talking to Mr. Abekesis."
    "No excuses."
Rani dropped the topic and listened to the lecture, often raising her hand with questions.

"What if it goes wrong? What could it cause?" She asked.
    "Well, it shouldn't go wrong."

Later, "Could it happen that a fairy can't activate that power?"
"It could, but you can activate the power, so why ask?"

And so went the period, with Ms. Grimshaw growing more and more annoyed.
"Miss Andrason! Stop asking these questions!"
    "But they're essential to learning."
"What's essential is that you receive detention!"
"Yes, ma'am," she said, taking the detention slip.

**********
At the same time, in a freshmen classroom, the teacher was taking attendance.
    "Juliette."
    "Here."
    "Samantha."
    "Present."
    "Dellany."
"I'm here, but please call me Dell."
The teacher ignored her and continued the roll-call.
After she had finished, the teacher began a get-to-know-you-and-your-powers session. She asked each girl where she was from. "Where are you from, Dellany?"
    "Please call me Dell."
    "Please answer the question."
    "I'm from Planet Zenith."
"Now everyone, please tell me your power, and where you think it derives from. Let's begin with Dellany."
Frustrated, Dellany urged the teacher again. "Electronics, I think from technology, but please call me Dell!"
When the teacher ignored her yet again, Dellany stood up, shouting, "What are you, stupid?!" Her anger was so intense that her powers flared, and the cellphone of the girl next to her exploded.
Her expression still calm, the teacher said, "Thank you for disrupting class, Dellany. For this behavior, I give you detention. Please see Ms. Chapman at your break." She handed Dellany a detention slip, which she grudgingly took.

**********

Soon it was time for lunch break. All around girls were chattering with friends and having a great time, but Kiara was definitely not enjoying herself. She was sitting by herself when a girl with curly brown hair walked up to her. Behind her were two blonde-haired girls who looked like twins.

“What are you wearing?” the brown-haired girl said. The group looked at Kiara's (describe outfit) with disgust.

Kiara did not look down at her clothes in shame, but she held her head up high and responded, “What does it matter to you? I wear what I want.” The girl snickered at Kiara's accent and form of speech.

“Where are you from? Are you a pirate or something? That would certainly explain your bad taste in clothing.” The girls behind her giggled. “Oh, and I bet your powers are like...fashion disaster! Or language mishap!” They giggled some more. And Kiara couldn't take it.

“Belay that talk, ye bilge-suckin' saucy wench, less ye be keelhauled!” Kiara shouted, loud enough for the whole room to hear, shocked.

“Ms, that is not appropriate!” a teacher said.

“What? I just told her to stop!”

“We don't tolerate swearing. Detention.”

“But-”

“No buts.”

“Yes, ma’am."

                                                                     **********

“So, the result would be...” the teacher wrote the answer on the board, and turned around to see Reya's raised hand. “Yes?”

“You spelled that word wrong.”

“So what if I did. You knew what I meant.”

Reya pouted, until he eventually fixed it.

“Now class, read the second page in the packet.”

Reya underlined every typo or spelling mistake and then pointed it out, giggling.

“That has nothing to do with the class and it is very rude!”

Later, the teacher made more careless errors on the board, and before the whole class, Reya pointed it out.

“I did not make a mistake.”

“But you did.”

“Who is the teacher here?”

“Anyone can make mistake.”

“I did not make a mistake.”

“But-”

“Oh, good grief.” Another student called out. “Why don't you just be the teacher, miss perfect? No one else cares!” The teacher nodded.

“For your rude, disrespectful behavior, you will have a detention.”

Reya stuck up her head in a pouting way. “Fine. Just fix the mistakes, PLEASE.”

**********

"That's so rude!" Angelica thought as she walked to her dorm after classes on the first day. One fairy had made fun of a weaker one in class. Angelica HATED bullies.

She would get her.

And she had it all planned out.

First, she took clear ribbon. She wrapped it all around the girl's room, forming a booby-trap. Then, cotton balls on the ceiling fan. Then, toothpaste on the toilet. Then, toast on the light bulb to make a burning smell. And finally, duck tape on the door. The perfect prank.

Plus a video camera.

That night, while she was in bed, she saw it all on tape. And she laughed.

Until she heard a knock on the door.

"Ms. Angelica" the voice was Ms. Chapman's. "I heard of the prank"

"What prank?" she said innocently

"Don't try to deny it. We tracked it down to you. Clever, but not proper etiquette. I'm afraid you have earned detention."

The fairy groaned.

***
The first day of the school year was finished, and eight girls had detention. Whether they deserved it could be debated, but they all had various amounts of detention after classes each day. Boy, what fun.
And it also meant that they had to miss the Welcome Back party with the BOYS. Could this get any better?
    Maybe, maybe not.
